I suppose it CAN happen, if one knows where to look.

Back in the 1990s I used to do some extra work. Some of the more marginal "extras casting directors" would sponsor mansion parties, where you supposedly got the chance to network with important producers and casting agents. You'd get a "free" invite to these parties, provided you paid a "registration fee" to sign up with the casting service. Fees were normally around $40-$45 (in 1990s dollars), but could be as high as $100.

I never went to any of those parties, though I did register with a few of those casting services. I came to learn that many were quasi-scams, with a only a few, non-union casting projects per year. I imagine the "famous and important" people at the parties were likely C-list, direct-to-video actors. Maybe they were paid a small fee to attend.

I also knew an aspiring actress at the time, who had bit parts in a few low-budget films. She was in her 20s and pretty. She got invited to the occasional "industry, mansion party," though there were never any A-list people there. Like a lot of aspiring starlets, she was invited to provide eye candy.

I think some people, like the OP, might attend some of these so-called "industry parties," and then exaggerate about how impressive it all was. Possibly a rented house with a pool (not really a mansion) in Woodland Hills (not in Bel Air), with some "celebrities" that no one ever heard of.

If you're a reasonably attractive girl in your 20s (or can pass for one) and dress the part - stilettos, short, revealing dresses etc. - this is really not hard to do. I've witnessed it happen myself enough times over the years.

For instance, sometime last year I met a 24 yr old girl who moved here from South Dakota. She'd often regale me with stories of parties in the Hollywood Hills with dining tables adorned with mounds of cocaine, strippers + high end escorts all over the place, with a number of well known celebs hangin around. And while she was attractive, she was no supermodel, but really knew how to dress provocatively. That opened some doors for her, lol.

I was a bit wilder in those days. Now those days are a blur. I never kept in touch with those people, but the intrigue of the so called good life is part of the reason I moved to LA. I definitely want the L.A. life that so many dream about. I know there are many fake and superficial people, but honestly I just want to find some attractive friends to go out with. i would have loved to have gone to the Sunset Music Festival today or Made in America Festival a couple weeks ago. I'm also ready to start planning for Coachella next year. There are endless events, parties and clubs I want to go to. I'd like to meet "real" friends, but for now just want to find some cool people to go out with 2 or 3 times a week. This city is truly magical and I want to explore all of it, but not alone!
Assuming this isn't a troll post, I'd say you're goin to have a tough time breaking into those circles unless you've somehow managed to hold on to your youthful looks at the age of 33. A place as superficial as Hollywood unsurprisingly places a premium on young women - can you compete with all the women a decade younger than you? The competition can be intense

In more ways than one.
I would suggest you find an online forum where it deals with people who are narcissist, like yourself.
There you can waddle through the useless jibber about who is the best looking, and how they have no problems meeting people like themselves.
Perhaps you might even rise to the level of being known as the fairy princess.

Bob.

yes, you did come to the wrong forum thread. this is about los angeles not about conceited people that only want to find and have beautiful friends in beverly hills.

below is the link to the thread you would find most helpful to satisfy your selfish needs. the two of you are two peas in a pod.

demographics question
