I thought this was pretty crazy since it happened in Venice .

Photos show intruder following woman onto roof - CNN.com

Must of been pretty scary , and crazy when you think of how expensive it is to live in Venice.

Are home invasions actually on the rise or are these still very rare occassions

Just seems like people these days are getting crazy and crazier

Hope this scumbag gets put away for a long time.

Nothing changes much in Venice, despite the housing prices...

I used to want to live in Venice, but it seems home invasions are rampant there. And I used to think rich people or those who live in expensive areas were immune to burglaries.

But I can imagine in this case, it's going to fuel the minds of certain people.

Good job by the LAPD for their quick response.

Notice the bars on her windows ?

They just changed the website and censored the person's face

The NJ video clip is really scary..

You would think the "richer" areas would be immune but I figure that the criminals know the rich have nicer stuff too..

I wonder if this guy was one of those many "homeless people" ..he kind of looked like it from the picture of him , the way his clothes were and stuff.

Wow...talk about blame the victim!..

Any of those reasons make someone "deserve" to be terrorized in their home?

There's a reason why people outside of the USA build nice big walls to insulate themselves from the trash.

As LA continues to deteriorate, expect more of these stores, it's turning in NYC during the bad old days of the 70s/80s, LMFAO!
I am #'s 1 and 2. Have lived in NYC for 50 years and will beat you to death if you attempt to invade my home.

I have seen more walls around homes in West Hollywood and Beverly Hills than anywhere else I have ever visited.

That trash exists primarily because of the rampant and ridiculous income disparity caused by gun loving right wing elitist crooks masquerading as businessmen and politicians.

At least the "trash" has the integrity to try and steal from you without hiding behind lobbyists.

And finally, what exactly makes you chuckle about people being robbed and beaten in their homes?

You're not going to be able to beat anyone to death if they have a gun!

You mean gated homes? Very few in West Hollywood city, but I guess in the hills above Sunset.

OP: Home invasions are still very very rare. Think of how many millions of households there are in LA county and how few are ever affected.
