I've been living in Claremont, but I am considering moving to DTLA to be closer to all of the action. Does anyone know what the commute from DTLA to Ontario would be like? I would be going against traffic or is that not applicable in LA County?

Forty minutes each way, at a minimum. My husband, who grew up in Claremont, is actually a bit more optimistic than I am because from what I've seen, the 210 and the 10 are crapshoots anytime of day.

To Ontario you would be taking the 10 or the 60. Outbound shouldn't be awful, but distance is always a shaky proposition in Los Angeles. You can check sigalert and switch between the freeways as traffic dictates.

Yeah, I used to "opposite" commute, and while it is a little better, you can count on accidents and slowing down at ANY time of the day and in EITHER direction. Leave with plenty of time. No question that going with the commute is worse, but going opposite really is a crap shoot.

Why aren't you commuting using Metrolink commuter trains? Although the did cut a few mid-day trains, there is still good mid-day service in both directions.
