HI THERE!

Im a female graduating from biological engineering in FL from University of Florida. I am looking for a job in engineering industry. I don't want to make my post like a resume listing but I am REALLY having a hard time figuring out the companies and cities that would offer a job that is engineering/medicine related. SO far I had an excellent experience in neurosurgical research at my school, basically stuff that deals with improvement of computer aid softwares for neurosurgical purposes.

Anyways I am planning on working for a year, save some money and then apply for medical school so I would prefer an environment that is academic friendly but also closer to a reality than a typical college town.

Any Ideas????

PLease HELP!!!!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Is living and working in LA a requirement?

IT's not. I just want to leave Florida! And a bigger city offers more culture, dynamic, different perspective, choices, etc. LA seems to be able to offer that. What would you suggest?

Los Angeles is mighty expensive. If you're planning to work for a year and then go to medical school in California too, then I hope you have savings, your parents will support you, or you have a full scholarship. It's doable as long as you have money to back you up. Good luck! :-)

even if you were to live alone with an entry level engineering job? I am aware of having to use loans or my parents to pay for medical school, I'm just looking for an environment that enforces educations while it offers jobs in the city. I am not sure if LA is exactly the place or anywhere else in Cali, but FL surely is not. =)

If you are planning on saving money then consider living in a place that doesn't require a huge rent to be safe. Where are there engineering jobs? LA. yes but it is expensive. I moved from SoCal to Colorado because there are lots of engineering jobs and it isn't as expensive. What about Minnesota? Bio-Engineering jobs there?, the Carolinas?, Texas? probably many other places with high tech and affordability.
