I went to the Lakers 1985 parade and rally (the first time the Lakers beat boston). It was hot. We got to city hall about two hours before the rally to get our places pretty close but it was already packed. We waited and waited and sweat. Then as the parade made its way up Broadway (I think) this huge surge of people crushed in to the courtyard area where we were standing. It was pretty scary. It got really tight. I ended up jumping over some orange barriers and practically landing on top of Tony Hernandez the sports guy for KNBC.

I am hearing that perhaps there will be some "private" financing involved.
Hey JACK the LAKERS need you! Lol, lol

"Hedo Turkoglu was on the Kings when Robert Horry hit the historic shot in the 2002 Western Conference finals. Turkoglu was on the Spurs when Fisher's twisting fling of a buzzer-beater delivered an improbable victory in Game 5 of the 2004 second round. Turkoglu was on the Magic when Fisher burned Orlando with two series-turning three-pointers in Game 4 of the 2009 Finals. He's haunted."

Letting Ariza go made sense; he wasn't worth more than the mid-level exception and probably doesn't justify even that much in my opinion because his defensive and 'intangible' contributions were overblown. Basically he played above his head for 1 postseason. If they keep Odom, I think a repeat is virtually guaranteed. Even if Odom bolts, I think the Lakers are still the clear prohibitive favorite to repeat. The only team that I think improved is the Spurs but I wonder whether Duncan will be able to stay healthy and contribute this season.

cmw2133; I tend to disagree. I think keeping Ariza would had been better, esp for the long term. He is on the way to be a very versatile player. Artest is Artest. Might work out for next season but can't expect any improvement over the year.
