I want the lakers to win, but I think they're too weak and sloppy vs boston.
They outscored them in only 2 of the 8 quarters in the first two games. And even in their win in game 3, they outscored them only 2 of the 4 quarters. They havent showed any type of dominance or strength. Odom and Gasol....do you really see them taking charge vs kg and perkins?
The lakers will probably win one of the next two home games. Then 3-2 going back to the boston. Then boston in 6 or 7.
Maybe the lakers bench can step it up...walton and farmar have almost been none factors.

I've been underwhelmed with the poor shooting from the rookies but also impressed by their quickness.
Its all up to Kobe [as always] but the potential bodes well for next year as Odom & Gasol calm down.
Figure the Lakers will win the next game & return to Boston even. But think this is the Celtics year and am happy for Garrett.

Not possible. It's a 2-3-2 format. They play Thursday and again Sunday in Los Angeles, then they return to BOS for games 6 and 7.
The Lakers were very lucky Boston played a little bit worse than they did. Otherwise it would be over. The Lakers don't look efficient, like a car that needs a tuneup.
Can Phil Jackson do something about the way the Lakers are playing? Different approach? Different matchups? Different strategy? Do something with chemistry?
I don't know.
Tomorrow night it will be 3-1 or 2-2.

I don't know what jackson can do.
-Walton has played 36 minutes and has scored 2 points! On 1 for 7 shooting.
-Odom has been MIA.
-Vs SA and Utah he has getting 20 points and 10 rebounds a game. 4 points in game 3, Lakers wont have a prayer if that continues.
Fish has been 8 for 23 from the field.
Yet the lakers went through some tough teams, with utah, san antonio. Its probably a combination of utah/sa didn't play as physical as they could (and didn't test the lakers the way they could have). And Boston is simply a tougher team.
Gasol had 9 points in game 3. He has to get at least 15-20.
And even with all that, Pierce had 6 points in game 3. 2-14 shooting, how often will he do that? Even if the lakers are firing on all cylinders, Pierce is going to get 18-22 a game.
The lakers won by 6, yet KG and pierce combined for 19 points. That won't continue.
I have no idea what jackson could do. Seems like he needs a miracle.

I think the Lakers are gonna get their heads on straight... and come out tonight looking sharp. Time for a big win!

Geez...sorry, but that simply didn't happen. As a matter of fact it was the biggest choke in the history of the NBA Finals.
There's still a lot of basketball left, but three in a row...two of them in Boston is a whole lot to ask of a team that shows up to play differently every quarter. You never know though.

Man was that game ugly.
That's going to go down in sports history...along with buckner/the 86 World Series, Norwood's wide right missed field goal for the bills. Maybe the most infamous laker game of all time.
Watching Gasol and Odom has been painful.
Vujacic will grow from this.
The rest of the laker bench will grow. Farmar, Walton and Turiaf.
But they're overmatched. They don't have a prayer.

What an amazing game - for Boston that is. Horrible collapse for the Lakers.
As a Celtics fan, I have to say that this is an instant classic.
In the first quarter, LA stampeded throgh the gates and the Celtics were back on their heels. It was obvious that things could not continue this way, but I still felt LA would win by 8-10 pts. at least. The fourth quarter was scary to watch, even for me, because it felt like the whole Lakers team was put in some kind of trance by the Celtics ......

My son got home from work right after the game ended, and the shock on his face was priceless. "No way! No F-ing way!" (Well, he didn't say "F"ing, but y'know... ) The collapse was truly unbelievable. I'm not a huge Lakers fan, so I was thinking, "What an awful game - unless you're a Celtics fan! Then it was a great game!"
