Well the weatherpeople didn't lie this time. We are having a real rain storm. It's pouring in the SFV. How about where you are?

Talking Storm watch, caught on tape, film at 11!

According to all of the news broadcasts -- who have interrupted their coverage of car chases and Brittney Spears -- on the coast in Ventura County, where its coming down in buckets with blustery wind to boot, we're told it's Storm Watch 2008!

Be thankful you don't live in Tahoe.

Regardless of what short term problems this storm has/will cause the people in Tahoe, I'm sure they are thankful for it. It's going to bring a lot of money into the area. This upcoming weekend is going to be a huge ski weekend. I was looking last night for rooms available at Harvey's and Harrah's. Harrah's is sold out on Saturday. The cheapest room at Harvey's on Saturday is $449. If one could slip away mid-week the rooms are only $79.

My mom has a friend who lives in Truckee which is in Tahoe. She owns a store called White Buffalo I think. She said without tourists, this city would have no economy and they cant wait until the first big snowfall, and this definitely help their economy. If anyone is heading up there, check out her store. Give her some business.

There has been steady rain, moderate at times. But I haven't seen any downpours. I did check the rain gauge in my back yard about 10:30 PM and it read 1.4". It will probably be 1.8-2.0 by the morning.
