Question Possibly looking at Hawthorne

Hi,
I just wondered if I could get some feedback as to how safe/nice Hawthorne is. Particularly the 90250 zip code. Thanks!

Hawthorne's kinda rough.

A friend of mine calls it "Inglewood Lite" and "Diet Inglewood" (like Diet Coke).

If you're gonna do the South Bay, check out Torrance. Much safer suburb.

Hawthorne, like many of the cities in LA County (including Torrance!) has good, not so good and bad areas. 90250 is the Holly Glen area and is not a particularly bad area. But, the further you move to the west, the better off you'll be. See if you can stretch your budget to the Del Aire area. It borders El Segundo and has a nice residential community. The elementary and middle schools are reasonable and many in this area attend El Segundo High School which is considered very good public school.

Are you looking to keep housing or rental costs low? Are you trying to stay close to work? What's the motivation at looking in that particular area?
