I recently just received my acceptance letter to CSULB. I live out of state and really have no clue what Long Beach is like. I am looking for apartments within walking distance or bus route that are safe for a female to live in by myself. I am not oppose to taking the bus. I own a car but it would be a little scary at first to start driving in busy big city. Any suggestion about anything is much appreciated as I barely know anything. How is the school? Is the city safe overall? Thanks!

Congrats on the acceptance! CSULB is in a great area of the city. Real estate there is on the pricier side, so there's lots of beautiful neighborhoods. You should be careful and watch your surroundings, but this is a general rule for Southern California.
