I read on the San Diego Court Website that you can show up early for Jury Duty by up to 2 weeks and thus serve earlier than your assigned date. Does anyone know if you can you do this for the LA County Superior Court? I can find no reference to this on their website. I would like to do my jury duty as early as possible as I plan to start a new job soon and don't want to tell my employer I will be doing jury duty my first month of employment.

Not in LA. You are assigned a week that you are on call. L

No, you can't just show up when it works better for you....LOL.

When exactly are you starting a new job? Your jury summons has a specific date and location. You don't have to show up, you call the night before and it will tell you if you're needed, you do this every night for 5 days, I believe after 6pm(all this information is included) is the time you can call and the recording tells you yes or no in regards to reporting, chances are you won't even be needed.

Ha, no. You have to do jury duty the day it says on the paper you got. Even if you're starting a new job, your employer has to allow you to go.
