Hello all,
I'm taking an extensive road trip through California (gonna go to LA for a few days, then take the 1 up to Salinas, head over to Yosemite, then hang out in San Francisco for a few days before going through Muir Woods and finishing the trip off with the Redwoods National Forest in Eureka.
Does anyone have any advice about safe car-camping locations ("boondocking")?? I've been on many tours with my band, and we would always sleep in our cars outside of Walmarts or Pilots - but I've been hearing California is much more strict about that apparently.
I am also bringing a tent just in case, so are there any cheap campgrounds around LA/San Francisco that you guys know about just in case the car-camping is a bust? I'm thinking "Gould Mesa Trail" seems like a nice last-resort, since it's only 45 mins away from downtown LA?
