Don't know about Albertson's online, but at Vons you pay the same price and get the same deals as you'll find in the store. But you also get online promotions from time to time -- buy two get one free, "when you order online"; order by a certain date or purchase certain items and the delivery is free. (The delivery fee is a pittance, anyway, ranges from around $5 - $9 depending on your delivery window and how much you spend.)

Do you know how far they will deliver from the store? Just wondering if they would deliver where I am.

Do they deliver where you, jdavid93225, live -- in Frazier Park (referencing your "location")? Lol, you might have to move around 40 miles closer to civilization, first. Then again, those grocery chains are agressive competitors, so who knows, maybe they will brave Grapevine snow closures and climb the mountain to your cabin in the woods! Did you try submitting your zip code?

Nah, I haven't tried it yet. I'd have to leave the C-D forum to do that! LOL! Anyway, I was just curious if you had any idea about it. I don't think I'm ready to shop that way, anyhow.

I avoid the traditional grocery stores as much as possible, because for the things I buy I can find them about half price, relative to the Ralph's closest to me, at places like Walmart, Target, and Costco. I think it just depends on what your typical purchase includes.

I have this down to a science.

Smart and Final - for water, toiletries, frozen meats, household cleaning supplies.

Trader Joes - Quick fix specialty items like sushi, marinated beef for grill, frozen brown rice, frozen desserts.

Whole Foods - specialty items like wines, cheese, prime cuts of meat, organic veggies, organic fruits, soups, quick fix dinners, coffee beans, tea, supplements.

Ralphs - Everything else.

Hmmm...I would question your science. :-)

Based on my experience, Smart & Final is the only "cheap" place on your list. All the others are pretty expensive. But again, it just depends on what you buy.

"cheap" isn't always a requirement when it comes to food purchases. i don't mind paying a little more for better quality, and if i were the only one who felt that way, bristol farms and gelson's wouldn't be in business.
