Accidentally driving through skid row is not that big of a deal. Accidentally walking into Skid Row is a lot more scary. LOL. Having to go into the businesses that are located in Skid Row isn't fun either.

To be fair, Skid Row really is disgusting. I'm not from Beverly Hills, I don't live in Beverly Hills and I don't identify with Beverly Hills, but Skid Row does give me the heeby jeebies. I've driven through Skid Row several times(because I drive around the city as often as I can, especially at night) and seen some gross stuff there. The image of three homeless men having sex in the street while using a parking meter for extra leverage is burned into my psyche...

Oh God. For me, it was watching some junky go through withdrawal reeking of his own stench on a sidewalk in front of the Jewelry Mart. I know enough to avoid skid row. Unfortunately, the areas I've encountered them aren't that close to skid row at all. That's why I try to stick to going to DTLA in the morning when necessary.

Why? What's your obsession with punishing hard-working people who have achieved worthwhile things in life? Did Beverly Hills Joe stick the needle in Homeless Junky's arm and make him an addict? No one owes the homeless anything. They have the responsibility, just like we all do, to be productive and beneficial members of society, not selfish drug-addled freaks.

To be honest. I'd like to get back at all the rich for holding our city back all these years when we could hvae had a great transit system yesterday, and avoid all this anti-development lawsuits. I don't wanna use humans as punishment though.

it is quite pathetic that you see this kinda stuff in a FIRST WORLD COUNTRY.... LET ALONE ONE OF THE RICHEST CITIES IN THE WORLD.

mind = blown.

anyways, this was my reaction driving through it:

Wow. I have visited LA many times, but I have never wanted to visit Skid Row. It is sad that the city has allowed that section to exist for so long that it has a name. I'm sorry, but, I don't feel sorry for anyone who allows themselves to fall through the cracks of life to end up there. I just don't, and I don't want to see it in person.

As much as I love LA and plan to move there, the city should be ashamed of itself for having Skid Row.
