Santa Monica has homeless but they generally disappear at night time when they aren't allowed to camp out at the public parks. Blame the CA judges for all the homeless people loitering in public places all day.

The biggest thing you could do to get rid of the homeless is to stop giving them money. You may feel guilty but they just buy drugs with that money.

Kind of weird you admit the situation is messed up in Venice from first hand experience but think it should just remain the same way or 'be accepted' because "Socal in general is live and let live".

Who made that rule?

Time for change.

Also it's kind of funny and ironic that you are questioning if someone can ''afford manhattan', but then criticizing someone for 'being elitist' . Question if someone can 'afford Manhattan' is a super elitist comment!
I can understand your take on what I wrote. I spent a few weeks in Manhattan, recently. I witnessed many changes there, which could be perceived as advances, even by myself; at least at first. While I was in NYC, I heard that there was a shortage of housing for low income people that had lived in the neighborhood for long periods of time. These people had been just priced out of their neighborhood. I would conclude that the best real estate in the US and for that matter, globally, will be owned by only the wealthiest. Not to say that is wrong necessarily. But I am not an ice man, so I do have some capability of being compassionate.

LA and Venice, along with so many places globally are becoming more and more upmarket. Sounds good, right? It looks better and it is cleaner. But when you strip away buildings along with the former tenants, you risk creating a class of the disfranchised or homeless people. This is happening right now. The cure, Gentrification, is also the root of the problem or at least creates an environment that is not one advantages in the least to those who are finically/culturally challenged. This phenomenon can be witness all over the US and the rest of the world.

You have pointed out a problem. In order to remedy this problem, do you really think a simple plane ticket will really work? Seriously? These will only come back. Just like everywhere else. And in California, the idea would be considered, and rightly so, as inhumane. It will not work here. Try a Red State.

And as far as pretentious goes, I don't think I have anything on you.

SM also has a real police department who will actually come out when you call them. In L.A. you're on your own

The one that tried to attack me a couple months back didn't disappear at night time. This wasn't on the public park but just a block or two from the beach.

Well, not everyone can live in BH.
