If you're used to living in West LA then yes it's ghetto but I do not see too much difference between PR, La Puente, El Monte, etc... And Those other areas are gentrifying by influx of asians. Just saying

Could you describe where "Pico Viejo" is?
A couple of years ago, I went to an appointment at a customer's house in Pico. When I asked him what his income was, I was shocked! He earned about $170,000/yr, yet chose to live in a very modest Pico Rivera home.

Nothing wrong with it. Kind of an odd choice for an out of towner as theres not much to do in the area entertainment wise. Pico Rivera isn't really dangerous.

There are nice neighborhoods in both Pico Rivera and South Gate. Both are middle and lower income working class communities, and mostly Latino. I watch the local news every night and rarely, if ever, do I hear of any problems in those areas.
