If you want to contend that my criticism of the writers of the article is in itself an ad hominem, I would respond by saying it is not since it a mention of the Economist's bias. Bias (in a source) differs from a personal attack.

The Economist writes endlessly about the supposed joys/economic benefits of endless migration to the UK. Britons all know (and say behind closed doors) it is a ruse.
The same fundamental fallacy of irrelevance that underlies ad hominem can certainly be applied to organizations

From the Department of Philosophy, a university in Texas:

"Ad Hominem attack: This fallacy occurs when, instead of addressing someone's argument or position, you irrelevantly attack the person or some aspect of the person who is making the argument. The fallacious attack can also be directed to membership in a group or institution."

I recommend taking a course in logic or philosophy. Again, I was referring to the source (the Economist magazine, which I have been reading for over twenty years) not the poster's membership in a group or institution. At no time did I attack the person putting forth the argument, but rather, his/her source. That is clearly not a logical fallacy.

I would vote for Trump. I like the way he doesn't give a crap about political correctness and how he just frustrates the Liberal media that hates him so much. Just when they think they've ruined his reputation the polls come out and he's more popular than ever. LOL

Having said that, California is going to vote Democrat no matter what. Not a swing state.

No, but they're fearful of arrest and jail time.

I'm hoping that Trump won't become president; I couldn't stand listening to his idiotic rhetoric for four years! It's sad that so many Americans lack both education and a sense of perspective to know how much damage he could do as president.

You wouldn't have to. The country wouldn't last 4 weeks under his "guidance".

Same could be said about Obama's low info voter base.

He is crazy and I would never vote for him but I do like the fact that he's not all PC and not afraid to say exactly what he feels and doesn't feel the need to apologize every time someone cries about his comments. If every candidate was as blunt as Trump our nation would declare martial law tomorrow. The "real" candidates just spew PC BS.

Well how many people voted for our current president just because of the color of his skin? Not knowing anything about him. We aren't a smart bunch overall!
