Default Nice middle class neighborhoods?

Do they exist in los angeles? Like the ones you saw in movies/tv in the 70s/80s shows like the wonder years? besides the crazy plot drama, movies like donnie darko, polterguiest, and ET make the towns there in out to be normal, quiet middle class towns.

Whenever i search filming locations for these, its always in the north part of LA. Towns like Pasadena, Glendale, Burbank, Tujunga.

How are those towns?

Yes, Westchester is one, and some southwestern portions.

All good. The South Bay beach cities and Torrance are really good. Culver City is another.

good to hear they exist. Everyone i talked to(NYC area) talks about LA like its a gang ridden war zone.

It's probably the same as here though..I can think of 10 bad places off the top of my head and i can also think of 10 good places.

There are plenty of bad areas in South LA.
1. Watts
2. The Jungles
3. South LA district
4. Parts of Crenshaw
5. Villiage Green
6. Los Angeles' Eastside
7. Mid-City
8. Compton (separate city)
9. North Long Beach (separate city)
10. South Gate

So north LA is generally safe and normal? By normal i mean, you can walk down the street without feeling threatend, people work, low to no graffiti, kids go to school and get an education.

North L.A. (San Fernando Valley) has some struggling areas, mostly in the northern portions of the area. West L.A. is generally safe, but you're going to need a whole lot in your pocket to live over there.

Don't forget that South Gate is ALSO a separate city.

Parts of "South LA" are unincorporated (i.e. that MLK hospital is in unincorporated territory)

It doesn't suck, but it sure helps if you are "in" already, meaning you bought your home ten or so years ago AND you don't have a nasty commute AND you have good schools if you have kids.

Is someone trying to correlate television shows with reality?
