Tenants worry as Caltrans prepares to sell homes along 710 Freeway corridor - LA Times

We rented a Caltrans house for six months, three years ago. With as disorganized as Caltrans is, I find it difficult to believe that these houses will actually get sold. Thoughts?

I'm sure they will be sold but under what circumstances seems to be the question. Some will be teardowns but others sound like they will go for a pretty penny.

Not sure what the article means when it talks about people who have "put up with" Caltrans as a LL in hopes of someday buying. They can still buy but I'm guessing this was spun to be another story of people who've been living on the cheap for decades so they now deserve a free house or something because it's what they are used to. Oh, and fix it up first too.

It was really short on the details.

I guess these tenants' logic is that Caltrans would offer the current tenants first dips if the houses were ever for sale.

Speaking of the tunnel, what's up with the machinery in the median of the current 710 stub?
