Why not? You need to work on that.

The linked Curbed LA article made such a reference. Thanks for clarifying. So much for journalists checking their facts....

And I'll bet the people whose land gets condemned won't get to vote on it either.

Along the existing right of way?

But your concern for private property rights is admirable. What do you do stop Cal Trans, which actually does this all the time?

Didn't Harry Reid float a proposal like this one at the behest and for the sole benefit of Nevada gambling interests?

We don't need it! We need desalination plants. We're running out of water here in the west.

What does one have to do with the other? Do you react this way when aiports build new terminals? Even then, how do you divert money sourced from Nevada and China for transportation infrastructure towards ocean desalination for CA?

And before using taxpayer funds to ensure agribusiness can continue sucking up the the remaining water under our feet, why don't we just do what we need to charge them market rate?

Forget it then! I live in Orange County and the trip from home to the high desert is the worst part of the trip! So then I have to park up, get on the train, NOT have my car with me then crowd back onto a train with a bunch of smelly drunk party monkeys on the way back who'll get into their cars and drive home drunk anyway?
