And I also haven't seen mentioned
Elysian park, with great downtown views
Lincoln Heights in East L.A.
I'd even check out for example Saddleback Butte outside Lake Los Angeles up in the desert. There are some other hills around too with views of vast desert. Still in L.A. County
Hike to Warm Springs Mountain off Lake Hughes Rd north of Santa Clarita

Personal favorite is Kenneth Hahn... As i work out there on a daily basis in the morning. Views of DTLA and the Beach. Love the machines on the ridge overlooking DTLA.

How does Runyon compare to what everyone listed? I'm only asking because that what I hiked when I was there and I loved it.

It's considered very touristy. Most natives avoid it. There are many other parts of the Hollywood hills that are considered much better.
