"...plenty of seats at good prices... I have time to book my flight"
Famous last words: now I pick up my man from LAX 5pm Thanksgiving

Just to add to the fun, I will first stop to visit my crazy sister at her facility in Downey.

That's leaving South O.C. around 1p.m., taking 405 to 605 to 105.

Then around 4p.m. heading on 105 to LAX for curbside pick-up around 5p.m (lands 4:08)

Finally, spending an enjoyable evening heading south on the 405.

Any warnings or advice appreciated (like faking stomach flu and letting him shuttle it?)

Happy Thanksgiving All!

There won't be any traffic unless there is an accident.

Woohoo!

What about all the folks trying to get home from family get-togethers?
Just a 10 mile trip here after dinner is over can be ridiculous. Now the stores are having Black Friday on Thu too...
Fingers crossed!

Thanks!

Families will already be where they need to be. Most daily 405 traffic is daily work commuters. Most shoppers won't be wasting time of the freeways since every store is only a few miles away via surface streets. Plus you'll get a carpool lane on the 405 on the way home. Personally I don't like using the carpool lane unless it offers meaningful benefit since I just drive the speed limit.

I'd suggest killing time at the In-N-Out but your name suggest otherwise. If it was anytime other than Thanksgiving, I'd suggest LA Vegan in Culver City.

Mission Accomplished

605 to Downey at 2pm was like a Tue 11a.m. drive, no trouble.

4p.m. 105 to LAX only slowed once half way; 40 min to Airport Exit

405 South at 5pm was light-ish 75mph traffic

I guess that's as empty as it gets for Socal.
