I smell a little paranoia. When I go to L.A., though rarely, I seen black people everywhere.

There's plenty in LA now. But the historically black neighborhoods are now largely hispanic. There's already black flight out of LA. Give it another 20 years and I can see blacks being a much smaller percentage of the population.

the proportion of blacks in LA is quite low, especially for such a large multi-ethnic city. last i read, it's around 8%, while blacks make up 12 or 13% of the national population. the difference is large enough to notice, just by observation. a few years ago, a friend visiting from philadelphia asked me where all the black people were. it wasn't the first time i heard the question, which has also been posed here a time or two.

There are a few Black strongholds left, notably Inglewood, Baldwin Hills,Ladera Heights, View Park, Windsor Hills. Blacks, do however wield significant power in the field of politics.

Sure there are some moving to places where they can be more socially upward, but LA's Hispanic population is going to increase by 180% (heard on radio-no link)
