Anyone noticed this trend in other parts of Southern California?

I've also noticed a large increase of Asians in the western IE. Especially, Chino, Rancgo Cucamonga, and parts of Ontario.

The West Coast faces Asia,so eventually this part of the Country will probably have the largest concentration of Asians if it doesn't already.

Most everybody in Asia is so far away from America they might as well go to Europe.

Living here is easier for them than in most European countries.

Don't think it matters if its west coast or east coast.

Anyone who's been in this area would have noticed the trend in the last 30 years. Why is this even a news?

Asians have brought economic vitality to this valley, starting with Monterey Park to the east since 1970s. and most recently to Chino Hills and going eastward. They open stores, restaurants, and draw Asian consumers from all over LA/OC and created Asian communities all along the 60 Freeway corridor.

They reinvest in the neighborhood as well, build new buildings, malls and brand new housing developments. They draw the best restaurant chefs from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Now this area boasts the best Chinese food in the US, outshines the traditional Chinatowns in NYC and San Franscisco.

This is a positive thing as Asians too were denied buying properties in the LA areas in the 60s and the anti-Chinese immigration act was not lifted until the late 60s. The Asians have economically revitalized many SoCal communities through their financial investment and hard work ethics. Take Little Saigon for example, the Vietnamese came in the mid-70s as refuges, but through their hard work the Little Saigon is an economic prosperity. All these were done without government welfare and the demand for "civil rights". Their children accel in academics and went on to become successful doctors, lawyers, scientists and engineers.

They are highly integrated into our society. This should be celebrated as part of unique SoCal culture. Just like the East Coast (NYC, Boston, Philly) has unique European immigrants culture (Itallian, Greek, Jews, etc), California has unique Asian and Hispanic cultures.

This is all good stuff.

What is not OK is when the Chinese come over on birthing vacations to have anchor babies. That needs to stop.

Then change the law.

At least they are doing this legally and they pay their own ways so they are not putting a strain on our social welfare system and not abusing your tax dollar at work.

Technically they don't have to reach the US soil to give birth for their children to become US citizen. You can give birth aboard a US airline and your child is automatically a US citizen. But you'll have to time it really well if that's your plan.

How about millions of Hispanics that came across the border illegally and have children that automatically become US citizen?
