Default Which Los Angeles neighborhood would be more suitable to live in the western parts of the city?

Out of Westwood, the West Los Angeles district, Century City, Brentwood, Palms, or Venice, which L.A. district would be more suitable for lesser trouble and worries, etc.

I'm gonna vote for Brentwood or Westwood. Others may disagree, but that's my opinion. Palms has issues, and Venice is a nice place to visit but I'd never want to live there.

it's been said again and again, but i'll say it once more: if you are not in a gang and don't look, dress, or act as if you are in a gang, the likelihood that you will have any personal encounters with gangs is slim. there is no need to be preoccupied with the subject, unless you plan to move right into the heart of gang territory, and none of the places you mentioned has a significant gang presence. in fact, in all but one or two of those places, any degree of concern about gangs is unwarranted to the point of being laughable. (i'm pretty sure that the most dangerous resident of brentwood now lives in florida!)

how old are you, if i may ask? i suspect you might be a teenager, 'cause grown folks don't worry about this stuff. seriously. let me make a suggestion to you: there is a website that lists all the murder victims in LA last year. take a look at it. the vast majority of the dead were known or suspected gang members and/or drug dealers; very few were innocent people minding their own business. when the latter become victims of gang-related violence, it makes the evening news because it is unusual; when the former do, we don't hear a word about it, because violent death is just par for the course in that world. if you aren't part of that world, then your chance of meeting your end as a result of it is probably only slightly less remote than being struck be lightning.

if that doesn't ease your mind, i honestly don't know what else to tell you. perhaps you should consider moving someplace else.

Brentwood #1 and where I live. No worries. Fun.

Westwood #2 Fun. Not quite as upscale or as quiet as Brentwood.

Can't go wrong with either.

Where do you commute to (school, work)? Are any of those places preferable for commuting?

General Patton is on a distinguished road
Most people, including myself, want to leave Ca because of gangs and the illegals. Why would you want to move there? And especially if you are only 19 yrs old?
What state do you live in now?
