something relevant to people who pay for Cable & Internet & VOIP phones:

Last year the proposed merger of Time Warner and Comcast $45B deal collapsed under its own weight.

This year Time Warner is back, trying to merge with Charter for $56B. Greedy shareholders of course approve, and the DOJ rolled over (they are weak, they didn't even bust up Microsoft in 2001). Now the FCC (and public outcry?) is the only thing standing in their way.

U.S. FCC delays Charter-Time Warner Cable merger review by two weeks | Reuters

Why not? You're going to have internet anyway, and Netflix is cheap. You would never run out of things to watch.

How come I can never find anything to watch? Other than some of the original series, the streaming service has gone way down hill. TV shows a year after they air and no top movies

They are all the same. Unless it's roof mounted you will be lucky to pull down 5 stations over the air.

Here's the 2016 price list I got on my December bill. Extreme = 30/5; Basic = 6/1 and Lite = 2/1 in Santa Monica. It looks like they give new customers good discounts if you sign a 12 month contract.
