I agree with the guy from philly. I just moved here but after being acquainted with the 10,405,110,101,170,134, and whatever I'm forgetting there isnt a bad highway in terms of how the roads are. Coming from NJ the highways and roads are like this: buttery smooth because they just repaved them, or decent with random horrible pot holes that cause flat tires and bent rims. The snow and salt KILLS our roads. The highways in LA arent buttery smooth, but they sure as hell are perfectly drivable without worrying about flats and bent rims.

The freeways and roads are by no means in pristine condition. The 101 going north from downtown through Hollywood at times feels like you're getting a flat tire, it's rough in many spots.

You mentioned the 101 south from Studio City heading towards downtown, a lot of that has been repaved, the northbound not so good.

There are some potholes through Silverlake(although some have been fixed) that would do damage to your car if you land in them.

I love LA, but the roads are showing their age in certain places.

You were here two weeks, it's really not enough and it doesn't sound like you drove that much to come up with some of your conclusions.
Exactly. OP, what in the world are you talking about? I'm guessing you're making things up and you never drove around the city.

I think you guys are too critical of the critics. There is no science behind critiquing a city. It's all subjective. If the OP thinks what they do then let them. You can offer a counter argument but it gets to the point where some of you just cannot tolerate any criticism no matter how bad, and in this case no matter how good? Now saying LA freeways are smoother than Phillys is cause for your wrath?

Northeasterners don't seem to understand the concept of speaking softly and carrying a big stick, so I can understand how Angelenos seem creepily nice by comparison. Not sure why someone wouldn't prefer it that way...but to each their own.

I don't get how northeasterners don't see how awkward, rude and anti social they appear to the rest of the country.

I like Los Angeles in spite of the gritty uncomfortable things. The variety is a big selling point to me.

That just tells me the roads in Philly are REALLY crappy.

Point to a post of mine where I called the OP a troll.

Did you have to? You pretty much did so by saying they're lying and thus a big chunk of this thread is just trolling
