Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone on this board has commuted from DT Long Beach to DTLA on the Blue Line.
If so, I'm hoping you can shed some light on realistic timing, parking at the DTLB station, and your general experience.

Context: My office in DTLA is right on 7th/Fig, which is close to a Blue Line stop. Currently I'm in Hollywood but am looking to purchase a sub-$400k condo and DT Long Beach is appealing. I would be commuting during the peak hours of 730a & 430p. Google shows 1hr 5min each way but we all know that true time can vary drastically.

Hopefully this thread can develop into an educational tool for others in my situation.

Thanks ahead of time!

I've done this a few times, the train ride is about an hour. as for parking in DTLB, i don't remember any metro specific parking, but there is definitely parking in the area that will probably cost you a bit of money. i'm not sure where you planned on living in LB, but they have a good system of feeder buses to the blue line, so you'll have that option as well.

Not sure about parking but I think the overall ride from DT Long Beach to Fig/7th is about 55 to 60 minutes.

I have heard Willow station has a nice free parking. I'm planning to start using this after the Santa Monica expo line opens in May.

Willow to 7th street/Fig to Santa Monica.

Actually, save a little time and get off the Blue Line at Pico/Chick Hearn station, then catch the Expo Line across the platform.
