Hi, I've never been to California and was hoping the locals can help me. I want to go to a baseball game at Dodger Stadium but I also have a friend I'd like to visit who lives in Woodland Hills (south of Ventura Blvd if that helps.)

Would there be a location to target that would be kind of central to both locations as far as a hotel goes? It's not for a couple months so I have time but I glanced at Priceline and was looking at their maps and wasn't sure which area to look in.

Thank you for the help.

Nothing is central whatsoever that would truly be convenient to one or the other. I'd probably pick a place near WH and suck it up and have a not-great drive to Dodger Stadium (or uber it or bus...).

I mean maybe one of those newer, smaller hotels along Ventura/Chauenga in Studio City...those would be geographically in the middle but not really 'convenient.'

Sherman Oaks is probably a good bet if you get a hotel close to the 101 entrance. That is pretty central to both locations. You can get to Woodland Hills in 20 mins if traffic isn't bad and getting to Dodger Stadium will be much less painful than driving from Woodland Hills. Studio City of Universal City area are good choices too

where will you be spending more time, Woodland Hills or Dodger Stadium? What else do you plan on doing on your trip?

Thanks I'll check that out.

Haven't really thought too much about it. I know I want to go to a couple Dodger games, maybe sightsee a little. Will only have 3-4 days max there. I always wanted to go to a Price is Right show. Is that near there?

I would stay closer to Dodger Stadium if attending multiple games and make the drive out to Woodland Hills to visit the friend. Theres actually a Super 8 on Sunset and Vin Scully Ave, right about a 2 block walk to the Dodgers Stadium gate. Of course its about another 3 blocks to the stadium once you enter the parking lot.

Another option is to stay near the Red Line in North Hollywood, Studio City, or Hollywood and take the Red Line to Union Station and then catch the Dodger Stadium express bus from there. All those will put you a bit closer out to Woodland Hills while still offering easy access to Dodgers Stadium.

I would probably recommend Hollywood/West Hollywood if you mostly want to do touristy stuff, Price is right, Dodger Games, and go out in Hollywood. Woodland Hills is pretty far from everything else. If the main purpose of the trip is to see your friend, then stay out in the Valley somewhere like Studio City. With 2 main places so far apart and a pretty short trip, you'll probably want a rental car. Someone probably knows, but it seems like Ubering out to Woodland Hills would probably cost you as more than renting a car for a day.

I agree that you should stay in Hollywood and make your friend come to you. There is no reason to go to Woodland Hills beyond seeing your friend, there is nothing to do there.
