lol @ wilshire. its worse than Times Square.

residential buildings going up everywhere.

light rail.

train.

all this new stuff with the exception of the cheapest one: decent roads. LA roads are starting to remind me of when I lived in my 3rd world homeland. they are absolutely terrible.

Perhaps you should have considered your dislike of the area before entering into a mortgage here?

Just be happy you live in a city that is getting that much construction.

There have been some bad potholes developing, was more used to seeing them on roads in the Northeast.

Construction pretty much stopped for multiple years during the housing crash , and now the past couple of years or so lending loosened up a bit and lot's of these projects had been in the works for a long time but were stalled.

Since real estate is "cool" again and viewed as a "safe bet" the cranes are back.

I think it's good if it's a crappy old building being replaced with something new.

Believe it or not..even with all the building there is a housing shortage here.

When something is already priced high...and then you limit the supply (make it difficult to build) , prices get higher

Here's How Serious California's Housing Shortage Has Gotten - Curbed LA

The best thing to bring prices down would be to let the developers go crazy and build as much and as high as they want.
Prices still wouldn't be dirt cheap, but they would be lower. Especially along the rail stations this should be done.

Or maybe not let in a bunch of foreigners from places like Brazil.

Brazilians and other South Americans seem to be more attracted to Miami versus L.A

L.A appeals more to the Chinese and Asians.

I know Miami has been trying to attract more Chinese investment though.

What is the problem with Brazilians though? If they bring money and are law abiding I say that's good for the economy right?
