We are going on 3 days with no hot water in our apartment building. Is there any law as to the landlord's responsibility to fix this in a timely manner?

I know there is a legal obligation to provide running water but is there a law as to providing hot water?

Don't ever rent a place owned by her or you'll be in for a lot of frustration and borderline criminal behavior like having your rent raised 25% in retaliation because you actually complain about these things while other tenants just accept them

Lease is up May 1st and we certainly aren't staying. As long was we get our security deposit back it's probably not worth it. But she's been sued by two people in past 3 years for not returning deposit so we'll see how that goes

Glendale is like a third world country.

The plot thickens though as apparently the issue is that one of the residents has been turning off the pilot light for the water heater. That's a prime reason things like that shouldn't' be accessible to residents

When the pilot went out on my apartment's gas heater I learned how to light it myself. If you have access to the water heater it's not that hard to do yourself. I'm not saying you should have to BTW, just if you want to take a hot shower and can't wait for them to fix it.

No hot water is not cool...though looks like another tenant was the issue.

Glendale is NOT like a third world country in any shape, size or form!
