Of course you're not going to see famous people left and right in Beverly Hills but i'm sure if you "look hard enough" or hangout there frequently, you'll come across somebody well known. Or at least see them from a distance. I myself have never encountered any celebrities. Based on Youtube videos, celebreities are more comfortable walking alone in Manhattan because they blend in well with the crowd and don't get noticed. I'm sure celebrities come to LA for the lifestyle and privacy.

Just wondering if anybody has unintentionally came across celebreities in the westside of LA (or anywhere in California)? Share your experience.

I used to see Jay Leno at car shows. He often would be on one of his antique motorcycles. He always was wearing a blue long sleeve work shirt
I said something once, I was right beside him and he kind of ignored me.

I grew up in LA County. Never been in or associated with the entertainment "biz" but I have randomly run across several in public over the years:

1. George Clooney (two times: at a bar in WeHo and a bar/lounge in Studio City)
2. Eric Clapton (at a restaurant in Sherman Oaks)
3. Barbara Eden (at LAX)
4. Tom Selleck in Beverly Hills
5. Jason Alexander (George Costanza) in Santa Monica
6. Brad Pit (not really in public but at a talk by Frank Gehry in Little Tokyo)

There have been a few others but these are the most noteworthy.

My wife and I saw a TON while living in Los Feliz. Mostly just doing day-to-day stuff.

Never saw any in Hollywood, except when attending red carpet events.

The only actor I remember seeing on the westside was Don Chedle, and that was in Santa Monica in an alley. He was putting a hoodie over his head to not be recognized.

Living in Los Feliz was most surreal partly because of the celebrity presence.

My wife currently works in entertainment news and we have friends in the industry so we're not too far removed from it, and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't cool; going to the occasional party and event, but that life and lifestyle just seems exhausting.

If you're roaming Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, WeHo, Hollywood, Los Feliz....you're walking past them all the time. Really. If you had just a day and wanted to see the most possible, I'd say hang around Runyon Canyon park in the morning and then a coffee shop off Franklin in Hollywood during the afternoon.

In the past ~6mo I've run into Jim Parsons, Sarah Jessica Parker, Heidi Klum, Chris Rock, Chris Delia, Kristen Stewart, the 'Beibs, and a slew of B/C list actors.

They just don't look like you'd expect them to look. Toss on some sunglasses, and a hat or hoodie, anyone blends in really. They've got to run errands and generally live life just as the rest of us do so it's bound to happen.

I was in a book store-coffee shop in San Diego when I saw a woman who looked familiar to me. I thought, "Who is that? And how in the world could I possibly know her when I'm not from San Diego?" It was the singer, Jewel. She had no makeup on and it took me a minute to process who she was. Then, after staring at her for as long as I had been, I felt like a doof, so I just smiled at her so she didn't think I was going to invade her privacy even more. She smiled back... seemed like a nice person.

I run across a lot through work but out in the wild:

1. Ashton and Mila at a diner in Glendale having breakfast
2. Larry Fishburne at LA Farmer's market
3. Christina Ricci on an airplane
4. Natalie Portman at airport
5. John Mayer at restaurant bar in Beverly Hills
6. Larry Flint at Lawry's

Probably a lot of others that I forgot and probably even more that I didn't even recognize

I was at the old Allied Trains store on Sepulveda years ago and I looked up and there was Tom Hanks, buying his kid a train set. I have appraised dozens of movie star homes, though, and it's fascinating to see how they live in their private life.
