Two recent announcements are both going to be very important to the city.

#1 Kaiser is going to open a Medical School there by 2017

Kaiser Permanente's new medical school will be in Pasadena - LA Times

#2 The developers of Coachella Music Festival are going to start a 3 day festival at the Rose Bowl starting in 2017.

Pasadena approves Rose Bowl music festival with a unique vision

I guess people better start getting their homes ready for Air BnB rentals.

Music festival will be a 3 day nightmare for people who actually live in the neighborhood

Honestly I'm pretty sure they're used to it. Have you been to the rose bowl game before?

Yes and it's still not a 3 day event full of modern day hippies.

Guess we have some big NIMBY supporters on this forum

Pasadena needs to pay off the cost overruns on the upgrades they did at the Rose Bowl several years ago. They voted down hosting the NFL team temporarily until the new stadium was built. This will add seriously needed revenue to the Rose Bowl Operating Company.

Exactly. Do football games have blaring techno music until 11pm every night? And do you think those drugged out hippies will just be going to sleep at 11pm? Who's going to stop them from having after parties until dawn every day? I don't know of any other music festival that has been organized in the middle of a residential neighborhood.

Colosseum is just as close to sfrs as the rose bowl. EDC was hosted there for many years and would go way past 11 pm. But i guess those people living nearby are poor so it doesn't matter.

Rose Bowl hosts music concerts regularly with thousands of drugged out hippies.

Good things we don't have NIMBYism running the city and the politicians realize how good this will be for economic development and getting a younger demographic interested in the area.

I think if you have decided to live that close to the Rose Bowl, you have already accepted that traffic and noise are going to be a part of life.

And it's not like the Rose Bowl is in the middle of Pasadena.

What is the commute time between the Pasadena/Caltech/San Marino area and Century City? Assuming an 8am-4/5pm work schedule.
