I'm in Pasadena and last night my cell data was really slow and it's still a little choppy now. Anybody else have this problem? My bars were okay and I'm not sure if it's the signal or my phone.

I have ATT for my work phone and it drops and has bad coverage all over Glendale and Burbank.. I've been on MetroPCS and now T-Mobile with my personal phones for about 4 years and get much better coverage and service

I had a more specific problem. My bars were as strong as usual but the websites were really slow.
I also ran speed tests and they were normal although the web was jerkily slow.

Sounds like a phone issue. Reboot phone and clear cache.

Mr. Geek, I did those things twice last night. Still jerky.

To all: are there forums where people report wireless cell problems? The ones I've found were more about DSL or cable service or wifi.

Try and connect your phone to your wifi access point. If you don't see the same problems using wifi, the problem points to the AT&T network, as you have bypassed the AT&T network while connected to wifi.

Signal bars measure RSSI (received signal strength indication) from the local tower and don't show things such as network congestion, etc

Detail: when my phone browser is slow, I can use the Gmail or Facebook apps and they're fast. But don't the apps work with data the same way as the browser?

I even loaded a second browser. Same slowness problem. I also asked the people in the ATT store and they don't know of any problems.

Wifi is also fast as usual.

I've been using cell data in the same place physically for years. Only now there is a slowdown.
