No, definitely not.
Middle class is getting pushed out by the prices, but you can look at the Culver City area, maybe parts of Manhattan Beach?, westchester, few others
if you dont want to be near LA proper, id suggest southeastern suburbs around long beach. eastern long beach, lakewood east of lakewood blvd(approx), cerritos, parts of bellflower(near caruthers park last i knew), etc

Inglewood?
NO!
Unless you live North of Centinella, West of La Brea.
If buying you can find some good prices right now in that area. It used to be known as "Old Ladera" and some still consider it as being that.
Look on Fairview, and then drive around the neighborhood.
Why not try Ladera/Fox Hills/Westchester?
Homes that were over priced in Ladera are now coming way down. You can make some great deals.

Inglewood is a hole.
Alhambra, Highland Park, Pasadena, Altadena, Eagle Rock, Long Beach, Culver City.

Alhambra, Highland Park, Eagle Rock and most of Long Beach is not middle class anymore. High immigrant and minority populations, gang infested and high crime.
Middle class is more like East Whittier, La Mirada, La Habra, Westminster, Fountain Valley, Parts of Cypress and La Palma. Most of Pasadena. The San Gabriel Foothills of La Cananda, Azusa, Glendora and north of LA in Glendale.
It is hard to distinguish middle class if the majority of the population is minority. Even though the houses are the same type as the ones in OC, the location itself my make it lower class instead.

You do not even know what you're talking about. I don't want to hurt your feelings, but have you been to some of these places?
The entire northern half of Alhambra is UPPER middle-class and gorgeous. Likewise for the northern part of Eagle Rock. The southern half of Alhambra is middle- to lower-middle-class, and has no gangs - just maybe a generation newer to these shores.
Long Beach is a huge city of 500,000; and has beautiful areas as well as challenged areas, as would be the case with any city of that size.
I'll give you Highland Park, though; it is pretty challenged. The southern portion of Eagle Rock can be a bit dodgy as well.

the northern san fernando valley, west of the 405 seemed pretty middle class to me. if you continue farther north, the santa clarita valley is very middle class as well. much like many other big cities in american, these middle class areas are pushed further and further from major job destinations, so quite a few residents are moving to more middle class friendly cities like those in texas, phoenx and las vegas.
