I was in L.A. recently and couldn't help but notice all the Teslas driving around. They seemed to outnumber Hondas and Toyotas.

Does California give a tax break or something?

Many states give tax credits for buying electric vehicles, California among them. But Tesla's don't outnumber economy cars. That's silly.

I would say Prius is by far the most common bleeding heart vehicle in LA. 3 Tesla in my work parking lot and about 50 Prius

There's quite a few but far from being the majority. There are tax rebates on these, yes (for now).

In Westlake Village I see Teslas all the time, very popular, from all model years. They've been made for 9 years now!
I also see the occasional Fisker Karma. Now that's a rare bird.

I see dozens every day, but then I drive by one of their service centers every day as well. Most are in the process of being offloaded from 18 Wheelers after making the trip South.

Pretty much. The rest of the people I see with money are in Bentley, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, Bugatis, Lambos, Range Rover and the ones that are upper middle class are in BMW and Mercedes
