Garcetti talks job growth, homelessness in State of the City speech

Ironic that he's talking about the importance of youth jobs...yet the $15hr minimum wage he passed will basically kill youth jobs. Who is likely to hire someone with no experience for $15 hr when they'll have many other options , including college grads?..

He's also giving away a free year of community college to any LAUSD grad.
It's like Oprah, "You get a free year of Jr college...you get a free year of Jr college ...EVERYONE gets a FREE year of Jr College"

The article also mentions he's going to hire 5000 new employees in city hall.. Doing what ? I wonder?

It mentions hiring civilians instead of cops to help with the crime rate. Cops have been stuck at desks apparently instead of out there in the streets. But why has this been allowed to go on if it's been a problem for so long??

He's of course taking credit for a lower unemployment rate than when he took office..but the nationwide economy has improved since then. I think we will see the rate climb when the $15hr min wage law he passed goes into effect.

Oh and then of course the real kicker...

"The mayor also said he would ask voters to pass an initiative in 2017 to raise money to help address the city’s rapidly worsening homelessness crisis."

More new Taxes coming soon!

You have many issues that require additional spending but you want to pay less in taxes. I suggest you remove your head from your anus.

You should listen to Adam Carolla's rant about Garcetti that he did recently. It was pretty awesome.
