$15 min wage in LA is Not enough. It has to be at least $21/hr now!

The best way to achieve this is through Worker Cooperatives. That is what I am proposing.

The two central characteristics of Worker Coops are:
1) Workers own the business, and share the profits.
2) Decision-making is democratic, generally adhering to the principle of One Worker -- One Vote.

Case Study: Yadira Fragoso, whose wages rose to $25 an hour—up from $6.25—after becoming a worker-owner at Si Se Puede, a cleaning co-op incubated by the Brooklyn-based Center for Family Life.

Ugh. Minimum wage was not designed to be the salary that most adults live/support themselves on. High school and college students don't need to make $21/hour at McDonalds. Others should be attempting to improve their lives and make MORE than minimum wage. $21/hour minimum wage is ridiculous and would have a huge ripple effect, driving the cost of everything up for everyone else.

Young people start out at the minimum wage and in 6 months get a raise and in a year another raise. Thats the way it's been for ever. It never was intended to be for older people to live on.

That's not the point of my post, but since you bring up McDonald. Yes, McDonald do pay its employees $21/hr (US dollar) minimum wage in Denmark. Guess what? the sky did not fall. So, the reasoning you presented fails in Denmark.

Cost of living? in case you wonder. A one bedroom apartment can go for about $800 (US dollar) in City Center (2 yrs ago or so) - I am sure you know about LA.

Nonetheless, the point of my post has more to do with Worker Cooperatives, which, unfortunately, you missed.
