Hello,

I'm looking to move to the Palms neighborhood near Culver City. Does anyone have any general info, advice for a mid 20's person as to what to do for fun, where to hang out etc?

So far I've figured out there is no parking at all (not surprising), it's pretty close to downtown Culver City and near the new Metro station that will take about 20 mins to get to Santa Monica and about 20 mins to get to downtown LA. Seems like a very good spot to be. Can you share any pro's and cons that would be helpful to me?

Thanks much

Yes, Palms is a good area to be at.

Some highlights: it's freeway close, generally cheaper than West LA and Culver City, new Kogi taqueria at Overland/Palms is popular, Palms Ramen at Palms/Sepulveda is pretty good, and of course the Expo Line that you mentioned. Though, the trip to Downtown is more like 25-30 minutes.

Regarding places to hang out, there are a few bars, The Garage, Carbon, and Blind Barber (in Culver City).

Also check out the Culver City stairs at Baldwin Hills overlook, good workout and a good view at the top.
