I'm looking to get a new job and wondering whats the typical commute time LAers have. My friends say 1hr to and 1hr from should not be considered shocking.

30-40 minutes each way to travel about 12 miles. On bad days it can take upwards of an hour and without traffic it's under 20 minutes (e.g. christmas time or jewish holidays).

A 15 minute walk each way for me.

This survey was the average of LA is about 29 minutes, slower than the national average of roughly 25 minutes (each way). I would have guessed more like 40 to 45 minutes each way.

I've had anywhere from 15 minutes to 3 sometimes 4 hour commutes. 1 hr is average.

30-35 minutes in the morning. 45-50 minutes in the afternoon. Usually on the lower end during the summer when school's out.

15-20 min there, 15-25 min back. Feel pretty lucky ABOUT THE COMMUTE right now, I"ve done an hour each way and that was tiring.

9 miles
25min one-way, leaving @ 6:45am.
I use the Metro subway, then walk 2 blocks.
Considered a great commute in LA.
