To Clarify, I spent a lot of time in LA
I lived on Carmen Crest and Outpost up on Hollywood hill. Vanna White and Jackson Brown were my neighbors. I played guitar was making lots of $$$ and had to be stationed out of LA
...I hated it !
You couldn’t walk around at night these barking dogs would go off. Once these rent A cops come and asked what I'm doing walking.
I tell them; "nightly stroll---I'm walking home" p*** off this is a public street! They then call the racist boot jacking LA county cops who ask for ID, then ask me how much $$ I have in my possession.
I say "how much you guys want---where's Allen Funt?”
I then get shot with electric darts pushed to the ground and taken away handcuffed in a police car. Then handcuffed me to a radiator in some station near a bus depot in Van Nuys next to a hooker man dressed a a woman and told SHUT TF UP AND ROAST TO DEATH THIS AINT NEW YORK!!
That Hollywood strip is nuts too!!
1:59 AM the Na-zi Storm troopers close and come down the street abroad arm to arm and grab anybody in the way.
You can’t even get to your car to get away; helicopters buzz the whole dam place 24-7 you dream you’re in Vietnam at night.
Oh...one more
I also got kicked out of some sushi joint and beaned in the back with a riceball (by some crazy Japanese cook) for asking for California Rolls (I dont eat raw fish)

Wow, you hang out with a completely different crowd than I do! I lived in LA for 19 years as an adult and never had anything like that happen to me. I did witness shootings and various things, but nothing was ever targeted at me personally.

Thanks for the input but that could be one of the strangest posts I have ever read. Good luck with all of that...

Kris
Although I am a Christian American, and have never been to L.A., I have a pretty good idea of what the place is like: shallow, pornographic, soulless and self-serving. Any channel on our T.V. can tell us this. However, Dubai seems upright and moral, not to mention breathtakingly beautiful. I wouldn't have a problem with wearing a hijab, either, if need be, since that is the old way for Christianity (only in the last 50 years were headscarves abandoned to enter our churches).
I am saddened by the state of our country. I am concerned about what my children are exposed to, what our music says, even what shows up on billboards. I think that if you live in Dubai, you are very lucky.
Peace to you,
Kris Lipscomb
