Default Commute from Brentwood to USC? Please advise!

Hi,

I am moving to L.A. to work at USC's University Park Health Center and I am trying to figure out where I should live. I am hoping to rent a house/condo for no more than $3000/month and I'm strongly considering the Brentwood area.

How long would the commute from Brentwood to USC's UPHC be if I were traveling to work at 9:00 AM and returning to Brentwood at 5:00 or 6:00 PM?

Any other areas we should consider living?

Thanks in advance!

If you don't mind living around Black people, try Baldwin Hills or Leimert Park (not the Jungle, near the Mall) that area can be nice (please DM before choosing, can be spotty). Or go all the way into Culver City and you should be fine. The commute you described will be about an hour going about 20 - 30 mph on the freeway or 45 min to an hour driving the streets. From the farthest place (Culver City) you are looking at 30 min on the street or Leimert Park about 10 - 15 min with traffic.

Depending on exactly where you are in Brentwood, you're probably looking at about an hour each way.

maps.google.com

Use it. Their rush hour times are pretty accurate.
