United just spent a fortune on there terminal 6/7 expansion. The new United Club is impressive I can't imagine them leaving that kind of facility in less than a hub airport.

Interesting. Can United sell those assets off? They may have to.

Delta > United, plus Delta just committed to pouring a bunch of money into LAX.

Delta is already the airline to the stars. They have special lounges, security and ground transportation from the aircraft to a secure area east of the airport. You never see the Lakers walking through LAX.

It's not much of a stretch that they would get rid of their hub here. It's barely a hub compared to what they have right up the coast at SFO. They could just drop the "hub" title and call it a "focus" city.

UA would probably consider dropping Washington-Dulles before LAX since it already has a large East Coast hub in Newark.

United post merger is really United-Continental. They seem to be more focused on flying to routes east of the rockies which makes an LAX hub less logical. I just hope Spirit doesn't take over their gates. Now that's a terrible airline.
