can someone tell me the average cost of utilities in the pasadena area during the summer? im trying to compare the cost of living there to that of palm desert. housing seems to be quite a bit cheaper in the desert but i imagine that utilities would be more expensive. any other advice on how the cost of living could be diferent is welcome and greatly appreciated!
thanks!

Ours were very low when we had a swamp cooler and no central a/c. They were around $100/month.

Once we put in central air it ran around $300.

I don't know what amount is charged per kw of energy though, maybe someone else can answer that.

thanks! any other thoughts from anyone? when i used the cost of living comparison site it said that i would have to have a 31% increase in palm springs and a 68% increase in LA. i know housing is more expensive in LA but i thought most everything else, including utilities, would be a lot higher in the palm springs/desert area. i would like to move to pasadena but i dont know if i can afford it. it has the better school though. so either i live poorly and know im getting a good education, or live decently and make the most of my education(which will be in photography).
