We explored that area between San Dimas and Upland this week. There are some really beautiful areas! I especially love the wide esplanade on Euclid. It looks like it was designed to be a grand avenue. I bet it was neat when it had the streetcar down the middle.

Noticed this tread is 4 years old and a lot of the shopping centers and chains the OP is even talking about are either almost gone or, in some cases the stores, like so many throughout the country are now bankrupt. For everyone there is a perfect place to call home but I did find his examples a bit different from what I would look for in a future home.

True, but it goes to show how quickly (in a matter of 1 year), things can change. Retail has been dying a slow death for a long time, and the pandemic is likely the final nail in the coffin. So it's not just LA that is affected, but cities all over the country.

It's a shame because while I have become a big consumer of doing most of my shopping online, I still really enjoy physically going to stores to look around. There's something about the physical experience, and these types of shopping experiences are what makes LA and other cities (Mag Mile in Chicago for example) so special.

It's hard to tell what things will look and feel like after the recovery (assuming a vaccine in the near future- the ability for larger crowds and demand for shopping/etc will likely pick up towards the end of 2021).
