Ah yes, the days when every white kid had 13" baby Daytons on his bucket, and the Alpine deck with the Kenwood amp, and the Power Punch DVC's you bought off your buddy (and the wiring hanging out of the dash and the rocker panels and strung in the trunk) were all bumping "♪ Bah-da-da-da-dah, it's the mutha***in D O double Gee ♪" snoop dogg! Or bass CD's!

When we all shopped at JW, wore cross colors, JNCO jeans, sagged em, read Lowrider, and ran out to Best Buy or Tower for the latest CD. And when No Limit came out, oh MAN every week was the new drop!

I was black in the 90's (*lol*), but I had several friends that were not black. They listened to the same music that was listed and wore some of the same stuff, but I never thought that they wanted to "be black". That was just the style of the day since rap/hip-hop became more mainstream overall back then.

Is there a reason all your threads are filled with nostalgic topics that isn't even of concern to anyone?

WTF?!!

It's only cool to be "Black" when it's a commodity but when it comes down to the struggles Black people have to face on a daily basis, then nobody wants to be "Black."

Suburbia? Sure was for us.

mmmm, well, kinda maybe. I think more of the nerdy types were into the grunge, we kicked it pretty hard in school and around town, ok I'll use the "p" word...we were the popular ones, and that's what was up.
