I miss the handsome humidity and occasional warm rain that we got last summer. This summer has been a dud.

People in other States that can't get the nice weather they see in Southern California, and people here in LA hoping for rain. I guess except for a selected few, nobody is happy NOWHERE!

Rain is occasionally nice. Just overcast without the rain is nice too. Overcast days make me think of sitting by a fire, sipping hot coffee, and reading a good book.

You're in Santa Clarita now, you bought there. You didn't know it was going to be hotter out there? The high there today is 90.

So true Jack, it's been more humid than normal this week I mentioned this to someone who just back from visiting family in Delaware. They said this is a "cakewalk" compared to there. That is very true, it still cools off nicely here at night even with the higher humidity. And the mornings are still cool.

My wife and I were walking the dog last night and some condensation from a AC unit above came down on us. We got so excited thinking it was rain and how nice it felt. We then laughed at how much we miss a little rain and how some gross AC water made us feel good!

I wish we had a big rain to break up the summer for one reason; to wash away the funk build up. Extra funky where I live/work.

This is a huge reason why I would like some rain. I also live in Hollywood and the area around my building smells like a sewer. To go along with the trash, there are so many dogs on our block that when they go to the bathroom it just dries and soaks up into the sidewalk.

You've been here for the wrong ten years. Sounds like you missed the winter of 2004-5 when it started raining in October and didn't stop until the end of January.

Yes, the past ten years have been mostly dry and it sucks. But I've been here 47 years and know it does, indeed, really rain in the winter. In good years.

(Edited to fix the dates. It rained a lot from 2004-5, not 2005-6 as I originally wrote. I know, because my son was born in January 2005 and in the months preceding his birth, I was stuck in the house with two preschoolers who were stir crazy because it was raining constantly. The morning after he was born, the clouds broke and I saw sunshine through the hospital window.)
