Right? I get that people visit places, but if you've never actually lived somewhere and you're trying to give advice...well...

Same here, I have a friend who lives in Burbank with her boyfriend; they live in a two-story, two bedroom apartment for less than 2,000 a month. It can be done, one just has to look. Yeah, expecting to pay $1,000-$1,600 for a two bedroom is unlikely, but $1,700+? It's hard, but possible.

Exactly, there are LA County offices anywhere between Lancaster and Long Beach. There's about 100 miles between the two.

Here's the deal when buying SoCal property. The 3 main indicators of value are location, location, location.
The best areas are exclusively priced. The affordable ones are high crime. It's a failed economy that is going to crash soon. Stock up on non perishable foods.

There is no family.

The OP has been on the board as recently as 9/12 but never came back and posted, only has the one thread. Couldn't answer basic questions as to where the job was located.

There is no job and no family.
