My views vaguely mirror Bill Mahers' views that I am for progressive causes, but think political correctness does more harm than good.

Once the term "check your privilege" starting being thrown around casually in the era of social media, I didn't really want to be "white" anymore. In appropriate conversations, I inserted a little of my Polish-American experience with my Moms side of the family being displaced refugees from WWII, and coming to N. America, only to live in Mexico for a few years, as well as throwing out there, that I recall dumb ****** jokes being told to my face growing in the late 80s/early 90s, as well as the fact my Dad legally changed and simplified our last name in hopes that I will get a "pass" and not be presumed to be out of touch with minority experiences. Its important as being in higher education, where views are more liberal, and students are very diverse, it gives me more confidence that I understand diversity and don't need condescending diversity training, etc.

There are now a multitude of people who presume to know my life, my struggles, my setbacks, my obstacles, and so on, who judge me and others like me based on our very low melanin level. And from our skin color, they form uninformed opinions about my (our) presumed privilege. These people are vapid idiots. I am sick of hearing their nonsense and the implied excuses for their own failings.

I'm specifically talking about Rachel Dolezal, who despite having White parents, thinks she's Black and claims to be that. She's not, no matter how many individuals she puts in her hair, no matter how many times she tans her skin... She's not Black.

True. She is not and will never be of African descent (nor any other "minority" group) irrespective of the number of times she perms her hair, wears a weave, makes up stories of victimhood, dates a 'black' dude or bristles at 'white racism.'

Straight hair is not particular to one ethnic culture. Blacks can be born with straight hair/hair that is not coarse. I can also get into assimilation, if need be.

How exactly do you know if people make things up or not?

Racism will never stop and of course some whites engage in it. However, the vast majority of whites go so far out of their way to avoid even the slightest hint of it that I dare say they are the least common offenders. Now let's talk about the others.
