live closer to the 405/101 split if you are going to paramount and she is going to canoga

sherman oaks is perfect for both.......right at the intersection

studio city is about 4 miles east of the 405 off the 101

sometimes the drive on the 101 from studio city to the 405 can take about 15-20 minutes in itself

that's too much time when you can just pay the same price just living a few miles west

She's talking about Paramount Studios on Melrose. You should be able to find a very nice apartment in the area. Larchmont Village is beautiful and the Wilshire corridor will be great for you.

Look around the immediate area. I have friends who live right there and absolutely love it. If you want something a little fancier, look on Rossmore just south of Melrose in Hancock Park (Vine turns into Rossmore as you go south). They have gorgeous old apartment buildings. Your budget would put you in a building like the Ravenswood where Mae West used to live.

Sorry to hijack, but I had to ask.... What area does that specifically refer to?

it's what i call the stretch of wilshire from beverly hills to westwood that is the site of LA's largest concentration of high-rise residential buildings worthy of the label (unless downtown caught up while i wasn't looking).

Default Paramont studio area is not residential "Happyville"

I posted this already. We are near Paramont (about 4 minutes) but in a safe neighborhood. Paramont is not a walking area. You might as well live near work but have the best of both worlds in a homey walking and shopping area with me or with someone like me near the Grove, cafe. shops, etc.

Extended Stay Hotels or furnished studios in Pasadena?

Agree with Larchmont, really lovely almost small-town feel right in the middle of the City.

The part of Wilshire I was actually talking about is Miracle Mile, sorry. The Wilshire corridor is between Wilton and Highland.
