My daughter and I will be moving to LA in August so that she may attend LA Film School. I work from home, so I don't have to worry about a commute. We would like a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment that isn't too far of a commute from the school. We are just now beginning to research this...looking at paying $1000 to $1100 in rent if possible. What are utilities like there? I've been told Echo Park is a decent area, not too far away. Any suggestions/information would be greatly appreciated.

Try Los Feliz or they do have new apts on the corner of Sunset and Vine that look nice. For $1,000 you are looking at a one bedroom.
